Comments from our "Competition" that our clients have shared.
We found them amusing...we hope you do as well.
Myth #1:You need to buy a new film recorder every few years.
Fact:Your existing film recorder, with our PHOENIX Engine, has the potential to exceed the performance of the newest film recorders. In fact, even the fastest workstations available have trouble feeding the data at full speed.
Myth #2: You need a special coating on the CRT to effectively shoot negatives.
Fact: Coatings of any kind on the CRT reduce
the transmitted light. To compensate for this reduction, the beam intensity needs to be increased, resulting in significant degradation of
resolution.
Hardly an effect to strive for.
Myth #3: Slower exposure gives much better results.
Fact: Au contraire. CRT's tend to drift a great deal
with time and temperature which results in variations of baseline density. This is most severe at 16K when running 4x5's and larger films.
The faster that a film images, the more consistent the colors.
They just haven't figured out a way to speed things up.
Myth #4: Only the newest CRT types give the best results.
Fact: The CRT technology that is used in film
recorders has not changed significantly in years.
The most important factor is the size of the CRT.
Elementary high school geometry will
make this fact obvious.
Myth #5: You need the newest technology in a film recorder.
Fact: Absolutely. It's a pity they only offer an extinct approach.
Myth #6:There's no difference between 8K and 16K on 35mm film.
Fact:There is a startling difference in realism
between the two.
Isn't that the whole point of 16K?
Myth #7: It's just not possible to do that.
Fact:If they could, they would. They can't and they
never will.
See for yourself - we will exceed your expectations.
